
Demonstration Explaining the Arrival of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB)
According to the Big Bang theory, about 380,000 years after the birth of the Universe, photons of CMB began to propagate freely, and some of them traveled toward the future location of Earth.
But then the locations from which they originated were relatively close to Earth, so how can we explain that despite having traveled at the speed of light for 14 billion years, they are only now arriving on Earth?
Here’s how.
When the photons departed, Earth was relatively close to their origin, but due to the remarkable speed of space expansion, it was moving away at a speed much greater than the speed of light, thus significantly distancing those photons over time. But then, due to the slowing of the expansion of the Universe, it slowed down until it had a speed of recession lower than that of light, thus allowing photons to close the distance and reach it and, therefore, also reach Earth.
Verification through DESI Survey Observations
According to what I found online, observational verification of the slowing expansion of the Universe has also been achieved. This data, obtained from 2022 to 2024, as part of an observational project conducted using the DESI spectroscope in Arizona, would prove with a good level of certainty not only that the cosmological constant is weakening, but also that the expansion of the Universe is slowing, as can be seen in the image I captured from a video by DESI researchers, which I’ve included on this page.
But my theory also predicts the cause of the slowing expansion of the Universe: the reduction in the density of space due to its expansion, which decreases the expansive force of space itself, which the DESI would detect as a decrease in the expansive force of dark energy.
Therefore, the DESI observations would represent confirmation of my theory.
Verifying the Evolution of the Universe’s Expansion with a Diagram
By applying the formula for calculating the travel time of photons from a source to Earth, which I also present on this website, it should be possible to associate the scale factors of the Universe’s expansion with their corresponding epochs. This should produce a diagram showing the evolution of the Universe’s expansion over time, and thus it should be possible to verify whether it is actually accelerating or not.
